Every page on Shilajit.uk is written from primary research, gives each health claim an evidence grade and lists its sources. Pages are reviewed at least once a year and whenever significant new research is published. Mistakes are corrected openly.
Sources
We base health information on primary research, preferring, in order:
- Systematic reviews and meta-analyses of human trials
- Randomised controlled trials in humans
- Other human studies
- Animal and laboratory studies, which we always label as such
We link to every study we rely on, normally on PubMed or the publisher’s site. We don’t cite other supplement websites as evidence.
Evidence grades
Every health claim gets one of four grades: strong, moderate, weak or none. The criteria are on our evidence grades page.
Review and updates
Each page shows when it was last updated. We review every health page at least once a year, and sooner when an important new study is published. Where a page has been checked by a qualified reviewer, their name and qualifications are shown at the top.
Independence
We don’t sell products and we don’t accept payment, free samples or sponsorship in exchange for coverage. When we name brands, it’s because they are widely sold in the UK, not because they’ve paid to be included.
Corrections
If you think something is wrong, please contact us with a link to the evidence. We’ll check it, fix it if we got it wrong, and note significant corrections at the bottom of the page.
Not medical advice
This site is for general information only. It doesn’t replace advice from your GP, pharmacist or another qualified health professional.
